1. City in Focus

Perspectives of the National Urban Development - BBR Bonn 2017

40 experts from different disciplines and institutions were appointed by the Federal Ministry of the Interior to the Policy Board of the National Urban Development Policy. Two members of the Policy Board, Franz Pesch and Peter Zlonicky, have undertaken to gather these opinions and make the National Urban Development Policy visible in a project overview. For the realized projects show clearly, which role the Federal Government can and must play for the future development of municipalities. It is to be noted that this overview focuses on the urban planning issues, not including mobility and transport.

2. Demographic growth and energy resources (FFUE)

The Foundation for the Urban Environment - FFUE, on the initiative of Aloïs Michielsen, Honorary President of Solvay SA, had Jacques de Gerlache, Coordinator of the international platform "Greenfacts", draw up a factual summary report on the sources of energy available at the 2030 horizon, taking into account the future needs induced by the demographic transition and having a European standpoint on sustainable development. This position paper of the FFUE has been prepared by Pierre Laconte, President, Aloïs Michielsen and Philippe Joye, Advisers.

3. "New Use New Move – New Move New Use – Land use & Mobility" - Forum for Urban Passion - FUP 2017

10 recommendations arising out of the themes, presentations and debates of the ‘Land Use & Mobility’ Forum Supplement to the Proceedings of the Forum held at BOZAR on 11 May 2017, compiled by Paul Vermeylen and approved by the Board of Directors of FUP. Author: Pierre Laconte, with the collaboration of Paul Vermeylen, Dirk Van de Putte, Bruno Clerbaux and Clotilde Fally. These recommendations relate to trends that have only emerged in the last few years. In view of the rapidity of their development, however, their implementation is envisaged by 2030. It will involve a number of transitional stages, based on a multidisciplinary vision and taking account of environmental impact and the ethical values of the professions represented.
